Junior Members' meeting during DMA Nationals

During the upcoming DMA National Convention, Junior Chapter members will have their own meeting on Monday, July 6th from Noon - 1 PM in the Chesapeake GH room. If you planning to attend the National Convention, please mark your calendar and check out this meeting. I also see that Dawn Myers-Slemmons from Cincinnati, OH is listed as the National Junior membership coordinator. The Ohio Chapter of DMA has a very active junior member program. I'm looking forward to hear more about their program and get ideas for our own chapter.

What's on your mind?

Hi all!

As I begin this journey with our Junior members, I would really appreciate your thoughts on what is working and what we can do better. My current vision for our Jr. Members program is to:

- Promote information sharing,
- Build a network among our young dancers and
- Grow the next generation of DMA members and leaders.

I would like to continue the special classes and workshops in the fall. I'd also like to have speakers on career/educational opportunities as well as consider appropriate service projects.

BTW - I'd also like to do a field trip this coming June to Kennedy Center to see the Royal Ballet open rehearse. I'd like to get an idea of the interest.

Title and PAC Weekend Reminders

The upcoming Title and Performing Arts Competition (PAC) weekend will be March 13 - 15 at the Chesapeake College, 1000 College Circle, Wye Mills, MD, 21679

Here are some things to keep in mind.

March 8th (Sunday) - Pre-rehearsal for 2009 Title Competition from 10 AM - 2 PM.
The rehearsal will be at Cynthia Wagner's studio which is located at:

Any dancers participating in the Teen Miss or Miss Dance will need a pair of white dress pants for the opening. With Nationals being held in our Nation's capital, we are planning a patriotic theme. Please wear a red, white or blue gown for the awards ceremony.

on Saturday, January 24th from 6 - 8 PM
at the BWI Holiday Inn

The evening will include:

- Dancing
